She stands there in her usual attire, her robe and slippers. I scream "He did not do this! Michael is innocent!" She seems to be in shock and says "come in come in." I sit on her couch and I tell her how the police were just at my house and have cleared Michael. She stares at me in horror. She begins to sob. Not the reaction I was hoping for?? I say to her "hey now, no crying this is great news! You can stop giving him the suspect eye and we both can rest easy knowing that he didn't do this." She cries louder. "I can't believe I made a mistake it looked just like him" she says. "Well it's okay we all make mistakes" I say in an effort to comfort her. "Oh god!" she sobs "he must hate me." "Yes, he does" I say, "but he will get over it he just needs a little time." "I was so sure" she says shaking her head in disbelief. "I know, its okay." I say She begins to wail "oh you must hate me.!" "No, I don't" I assure her. "Yes you do!" she wails. Her wailing is similar to that of a three year old having a tantrum. There is shaking and snot and tears and loud crying. But I've seen it before. I tell her to clam down no one hates her its just that I am so happy he didn't do this. She again said "I was just so sure." I just stare at her. "But I never saw his face" she admits. "Just the back of him or rather the back of who I thought was him." "It's fine," I say "you were only trying to help."
"All your kids must hate me." she whines. I assure her that they don't. She asks me if I can ever forgive her. I tell her that I already have. As she cries and cries and makes it about her I remind her to imagine how I must feel. I am his mother and I too accused him. "Only after I said I saw him!" she wails. "Either way, I am his mother and I should have stood by him." I interject. "Oh the turmoil I have caused your family. I am just so sorry and".....this goes on for an hour. Her crying and apologizing me assuring her that we do not hate her and that we should focus on the positive... he is innocent. I eventually calm her down to where she is no longer crying at the top of her lungs just whimpering quietly about how much he must hate her. I tell her "he's a good kid. Give him some time and he'll forgive you." She asks if she can apologize right now. I say no the day has been long enough and I am sure Michael doesn't want to hear her apology right now. "Just let it die down a bit" I suggest. As I am wrapping up my visit that always takes about 3 times longer than I anticipated I get her calm enough so I can leave without feeling too guilty. She starts to cry again. "Do you think he will take revenge against me?"
This makes me angry! I turn on my heel and look her in the eye and say "My son has never done anything malicious to anyone! He is not that kind of person!" "Well he could be so mad now that he may retaliate." she says. I am stunned at that comment. I have decided to just go and leave her to her misery. I wrap things up by saying "well we, and our homes are safe and I am happy for that." "No we are not" she says. "That means the real robber is still out there and I am probably next. She begins to get worked up again. "Listen, the robber only stole kids items and electronics so it was obviously someone who knew us and had been in our home. You have nick knacks and facial cream. They do not want that. I am sure you will be fine." I say, becoming irritated. "Oh no" she says "I am certain I am next." "Okay I give up. Have a good night" I say and return home wishing I had never went over to begin with.
A humorous, opinionated yet insightful view on life, teenagers, kids, working. Here I share some of my day to day interactions and trust me its not as boring as it sounds. Check it out!

War of the Neighbors Part 2....Calling It What It Is.
The Neighbor War started here in case you missed it.
Okay let's pick up on the story. The next day was Saturday...Party Day! I got up early and headed out to run some errands. Although completely irritated by the drama, I did feel bad for the neighbor (white lady) because she is an emotional wreck and I appear to be one of her two treasured friends. So I braced myself and gave her a call. I asked her how she was feeling and she said "oh I'm fine. I'm just keeping an eye on those people." She asked me if I planned on attending the "murderous festivities" next door. I simply said I was not invited. This is when she informs me that I was invited and apparently she was too. She tells me that an hour before the whole pig slaying event she was out walking her dog when she was approached by the Mexican woman next door. She said the woman approached her asked if she liked good food and the neighbor, hell we need to name her, so we'll call her Jane. Jane said yes I do and then the Mexican lady, we'll call her Judy, said "we are having a party to celebrate my baby's baptism and everyone is invited. Would you please consider coming by?" Then Jane tells me she responded by saying "if I can. And then I even reached out and shook her Mexican hand." That comment "Mexican hand" really pissed me off. Jane tells me that Judy left an invitation on my door which Jane removed once the fighting began because she knew "I would want no parts of their fiesta". Again I am getting more angry. She removed an invitation from my door?! That would be getting addressed very soon.
Since I was not home I ask Jane "are there many people there?" She said "oh its been up and down I have counted 11 different vehicles coming and going." I asked her "well is it loud?" I was tryna gauge what I was in for when I got back to my home. She said yes. (I called David after and he said he heard nothing) She then tells me that she had placed a call to our property owner and he came over and the both of them, Jane and the property owner, stood on Jane's porch and glared at them to "send the message that they were being watched". Again this comment and behavior annoyed me.
She told me that the Mexicans came over and brought the property owner a plate and invited him also. He spit in the food and threw it away. Jane thought that was hilarious. I was outraged! My blood was boiling and I just did not know how much more I could stand without voicing my true thoughts. Torn between being cordial with the neighbors and not totally alienating Jane which would lead to having to deal with another breakdown of hers I said "well if they send me a plate I'm definitely eating it." There was silence on her end and finally she asked "you are?" "Well, yes I am" I say. Her voice turned venomous and she asked "so do you plan on attending this lil fiesta?" "You know I'd really like to stop by as a courtesy, my kids do play with their kids and I did see a bouncy house on their lawn when I left. Not to mention I love me some Mexican food." She then said "well You're better than me! I suppose you can just drop your morals and turn a blind eye to what's going on around here in the interest of good food!"
Trying to throw a bit of humor in it because I could feel it coming on I said "yup you know I'll do anything for food, hell I'd trade one of my kids for the right meal" I started to laugh. I notice she is not laughing. She says "well I'd be careful who I hang out with because the first sign of noise or anything at all I'm calling the cops and unless you wanna be there when they get there I would not go." Is that a threat? Hmmm I say as I ponder that. I have no reason to be concerned about the presence of police.. Then comes the voice cracking on her end and shes says "oh Roc, if you go then they will think I am just some crazy lady down here starting stuff." Well ain't ya? Jane then begins to choke up as she says "I thought you were against what happened here." "I am" I explain, "but because I do not agree with a specific thing a person does doesn't mean I am better then them." "Well I for one have a moral fiber?" she retorts. Hmmmm sounded like she was saying I did not. Having enough now I responded with "I for one, am not a racist!" Jane yells "I am not a racist!" "Oh but you are" I say. Just admit it!" "No I'm not!"she yells again. "Listen just be honest. I can accept you for who you are, but you need to be honest with who you are and you are a racist!" "I was invited to that party" she says angrily and as a matter of fact I even shook her Mexican hand!" I paused wondering if she had any clue what she sounded like then said "case in point "her Mexican hand" Racist." "Okay okay maybe I am!" she yells. "I have had many experiences with non Americans and they have not been pleasant. Then she begins to explain that her parents were racists..shocker there right? But seriously at 50 you should have formed your own opinions. My mother was a racist too but I knew at 7 years old that was wrong and I was not one. She then says "my father fought in the war and to his death bed hated Germans and Koreans." I said "look I get that your generation can be that way but I am from a different time and my world is not that way. Neither do I want to be around it. You are entitled to your opinions and views but I do not share them and prefer to not deal with them." Just then I had another call beep in so I told her I would talk to her later and that was that.

RePost- My Mexican Hell
First let me begin by saying that two of my children and ex husband are of Hispanic descent...so that gives me free will to comment and not be racist.:)
NOT AGAIN!!!!
There is a lovely little house across from me. I am at the bottom of a dead end street. A street that contains only 6 houses. Three which are vacant. The one across from me is such a cute house for a family, old school covered porch with a lovely porch swing a beautiful yard and an amazing array of old and mighty trees, perfect for raising a family.
However, for the past 4 years that house has been rented to GROUPS of Mexican men. Many different groups that trade out in the night. Just as you begin to recognize them they disappear and are replaced by a new group. Something like an underground railroad. Most of the groups have been okay. I mean the yard is not greatly kept up nor the porch and the soccer games of 30+ men have provided me some entertainment. The men work and don't bother anyone well except for the 15 different cars that pull up and honk the horns in the wee hours of the morning as the men head off to work.
The last group was the worst of the bunch. Their front lawn and porch was covered with Natural Light cans.. about 1,000 of them at least. They played their carnival music loud and had a habit of speeding up and down the road. Thankfully they are now gone and the property owners spent weeks just cleaning the place up all the while complaining that this will not happen again.
Over the past few weeks I have spotted many a family come by to view the house. Each time getting my hopes up hoping that my kids would have some nice playmates close to home. This one family came several times seeming wonderful, through my slatted mini blinds at least. Saturday I awoke to the noise of new neighbors. Yeah! I opened my blinds to get a peek and NOOOO! Eighteen cars littered the streets and driveway! All I saw was Hispanic men everywhere! What happened to the nice family? Where are the kids! Calm down I told myself.. maybe they are just helping the nice family move in. But no I think not... at 3am Saturday night all the cars left and I noticed there were end tables, baby furniture, and bags of clothes on the porch.... the uncovered part. All getting rained on. The trash can is overflowing by the curb animals have gotten into it and there is litter everywhere. And it is Tuesday the furniture and clothes remain and the trash is spreading farther. HELP!! Save me from my Mexican Hell!
UPDATE- So a year later and that family still remains. I have no clue who lives there I often see a mom walking the kids to the bus stop but other than that I never see any kids outside?? I do see different men and women coming and going but I'm way too busy to keep watch over them. They now have a bookshelf and a couch on the front porch. This is also the family that my new neighbor has deemed "crack dealers". The jury is still out on that one and now....according to the neighbor....they have chickens running around their yard. I have not seen a chicken as of yet but I got my eyes on them. When I moved here 8 years ago the neighborhood was all white, with one Hispanic family, then a whitey moved out and a black family moved in. Now there are no blacks, no whites, just Mexicans and me and the lady next door. I do kinda feel like I live in Mexico, there is often carnival music playing but I find their culture interesting and they do send me tacos and shit so it's not too much of a bother but for the fact that I am now the minority on my street.

MY NEW BFF
So I got myself a new neighbor. It has been my experience that neighbors are best kept at a wave and a smiles length. Let me explain...every time I befriend a neighbor they make it their mission to come by every day and spend as much time as possible with me. This will come as a surprise to most of you but I am not that friendly in real life. I have a small circle of friends and they all know that I am busy and interactions with me must be planned out in advance. Not a big fan of the "surprise drop in."
When I met my new neighbor, a retired older lady I saw the gleam in her eye. She couldn't wait to be my new BFF. So I have been polite but tried to keep things short and sweet. After all our houses are connected and dodging her would take a lot of energy and planning. But she is persistent and catches me getting out of the car, checking my mail, bringing in my trash cans etc. I always rush off with a smile and wave and say I have dinner burning on the stove, or the baby is in the tub.
Well Friday my kids were playing football out in the yard when one of them came in and said the neighbor wants to see you. SHIT! I panicked. "Uuh, tell her I'm busy but will be out in a few." I thought that she would give up and go away. Fast forward 5 minutes. I looked out the window, still there. SHIT. Ten minutes later still there. So I gave up went out and decided to make it quick. I stepped outside and wondered what she had to say that kept her waiting at my door for 15 minutes.

Me= Red
Neighbor= Blue
My alter Ego= Green
"Hi" I said cheerfully
"Hi I haven't seen you much lately"
"Thats the point, uh sorry we've been so busy, remember I told you I am super busy all the time"
"Well I just wanted to say thanks for the fan you loaned me it is cooling the apartment nicely"
"Glad I could help"
"Can you come over for a minute?"
"NOoooooooo- Okay sure."
Well, a minute turned into two hours, I swear.
Every time I tried to make a run for it head out she had another question or something else to show me.
I get that she's retired and lonely, but problem is I am neither retired nor lonely and I just cannot spare leisurely convos in two hour blocks.
My kids kept coming over "we are starving" they would say
I would say "oh let me get going, the kids are hungry"
"I understand" she would say "but let me show you what my dog can do"
"thats great! Okay well its getting late and I better get going"
"Oh okay, I understand, but let tell you about the past 50 years of my life"
"Sounds grand but I'm hungry now too, so I guess I'll see you later"
"Well I have a great recipe I can share with you"
Mommy we are hungry! I'm so glad my kids don't have manners and will interrupt me at any time :)
"Well I really should get a move on this has been great wasting two hours chatting with you"
"I could come over if you want that way we could still talk and you could feed your kids"
"Aww what a lovely offer but I have to do fast food now that it's so late, its after 8pm", HINT HINT!!
"Hold on don't go I have coupons some where let me just look through my stuff"
And on and on this went until the sun went down and the owls came out.
I finally managed to get away thanks to the constant whining of my kids.
I made it home safely and as I drew in a sigh of relief there was a knock at the door
I opened it and there was...... you guessed it!
My neighbor!
"Hi!" She said excitedly. "I was just thinking that maybe we could clip coupons together and I could show you how to get shampoo for 29 cents!"

"Sounds riveting I'll get back to you on that!"
"How bout tomorrow bright and early?"
'Lady tomorrow is Saturday and I do not do anything bright and early"
"That prob won't work since Im so busy remember?"
"Well how bout the afternoon?"
"Naw, won't work we have plans" (we didn't but we will now)
"Well I'Il just keep at it until you have some time"
"I'm sure you will"
"okay thanks really gotta go feed these kids"
"oh yes I'm sorry"
Then there was this huge awkward hug??? I am not a hugger so this was awkward." I love you Raquel, Have a good night"
"Uhhhhh Love you too??"
Just so you people don't think I am heartless, I understand that this is just a sweet older lady that is lonely and I have been polite and will continue to be but I just cannot adopt another friend right now.

My SleepLESS Night
"Smart-Ass" was sentenced to 2 hours of hard labor in the neighbors yard, and no TV, no games.
That's right biznitches...I don't play!
So that left the "good kids" and I with some free time. We decided to utilize that time by going for a walk through our neighborhood. Since "Naughty Boy" was already asleep, "Smart Ass" was exhausted from his laboring, and the two "good ones" were tired from our evening walk everyone went to bed early. I had a somewhat taxing week and really needed a good nights rest so I opened my bedroom window, cut the lights, and popped an OTC sleeping aid and called it a night around 930p.
We had a new neighbor move in yesterday, I live in a large duplex so we basically share a building separately but our yards are one. She has a dog apparently. Around 1030p I was awakened by a little dog barking under my window, sounded cute but not at 1030p.
Around 12a I was awken by RA (resident asshole) getting into bed.
At 2am I awoke from a nightmare that I had caught RA and Kim Kardashian getting in on. I awoke mad as hell. How dare he replace me with a better looking woman!
At 3am Princess was there at the foot of my bed crying because she had peed the bed. Again. So I got up cleaned her up then tucked her back into the bed with us.
Around 345am RA shouted out "Why is there damn water in the bed?"
Okay I thought this dude is crazy! I chalked it up to sleeptalking and went back to sleep. As I dozed off he said again "Roc, did you pour water in the bed?'
"Yes idiot I got up and had some late night water, couldn't finish it all, didn't feel like walking back to the kitchen so I poured it all over the bed." I did not feel anything. So again I just assumed he was dreaming.
About 10 minutes later he said again "what the hell is in the bed,? I'm gonna have to sleep somewhere else!"
"Where in Kim Kardashian's bed?" I snapped. Still obviously a little pissed at him for having boned Kim in my medicated induced sleep.
"What?"
"Nevermind!"
"I'm seriously getting on the couch"
'Whatever dude just get a move on so I can sleep already!"
I then felt him adjust the blankets, reposition and go back to sleep. Then I felt the "water".
What the hell! I looked at the clock...449am. Gotta get up in 40 minutes. By the time I change
the bedding it will be time to get up. And I was exhausted. Screw it I'll deal with the "water" after 530
515a. Neighboors dog again (bark, bark, bark, bark!)
525a Garbage truck outside (roar, crash, rumble, slam, beep, beep, beep)
530 alarm clock (beep, beep, beep, beep, beep, beep, beep!)
FUCK!@!!!
By the way, Yes it was pee!
